I am always trying to find employment opportunities for “my” youth of today. . . here is a great opportunity for all ya’ll looking for employment. . . . Today you need to get on down to Ballou HS 3401 4th Street SE Washington DC 20032 and APPLY for the program. Put on your suit, iron your shirt, BRUSH YOUR TEETH LOL and take the following with you to Ballou:

  • Resume (all of your fabulous work you have done, service in the community, grades in school- talk yourself up- you know you are great!)
  • If you are under 18 you are going to have to get a parental unit to sign a waiver for you!

Mayor Adrian M. Fenty’s 2009 Summer Youth Employment Program
Together We Can!

Attend Mayor Adrian M. Fenty’s 2009 Summer Youth Job Expo March 25-26 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center from 10 am to 6 pm. Youth will have the opportunity to meet employers, attend workshops, interview, and choose their job preferences.
Mayor Adrian M. Fenty’s Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) serves youth who are 14 to 21 years of age. The program provides a mechanism through which eligible youth are able to earn money while gaining meaningful work experience, skills-oriented training, and career exposure. The SYEP provides an array of summer enrichment experiences that consists of Arts, Design and Media, Building and Grounds Maintenance, Community and Social Services, Construction Trades, Education, Training and Library Science, Health Care Support, Hospitality and Tourism, Office and Administration Support and Sports and Physical Education.
This year’s program will operate from June 18 through August 21, 2009. The nine week program has launched several new features; this year participants will be able register online, select their jobs, and locate important information about their worksite via our website.     • It absolutely does! I am in the midst of re-doing this blog and if you can bare with me I am actually trying to do bigger things . . . could you help me out? Are you a parent? Youth? or someone like myself . . . just tryin’ to help someone out? I am trying to get links listed on the side of this site for youth to not only apply for jobs but also to polish up on their resume’s. I know I was homeless and out-of-work for a while. . . . so please let me know what would be the most helpful- if you feel comfortable.
